Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge - Minneapolis, MN

Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge - Minneapolis, MN

Housed in a former A&W restarant, Psycho Suzi's has got to be one of our favorite places in the Twin Cities. It's unpretentious, tacky charm makes a meal there an event. If the charm alone weren't enough-and it wouldn't be!-the food is amazing!

Our household favorite hands down is the "Commando." Salami, ham, lettuce, red onion, jalapenos and provolone are the substance of the sandwich. The sauce, a "house dressing" can only be described as amazing. It probably has 5,000 calories in it, but I don't care.

The rest of the menu features some weird stuff like "Red Rockets" and "Pickle Roll Ups." There's plenty of strange stuff to try for those who are adventurous, and more mundane fair for those who aren't.

If you head out to Psycho Suzi's, be prepared for a long wait if you go on weekends. But that is true of many good places in the Twin Cities. We've found going for a late lunch after 1pm made for the best time. It turns into a bar after nine, and kids won't be welcome.

Enjoy!
